Marijn Dekkers, Ph.D.

Chairman, Unilever; Founder and Chairman, Novalis LifeSciences LLC

Marijn Dekkers, Ph.D., is a Founder and the Chairman of Novalis LifeSciences LLC, an investment and advisory firm for the life science industry. He is also the former chairman of Unilever.

From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Dekkers served as chief executive officer of Bayer AG in Leverkusen, Germany, and from 2002 to 2009, he was chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Dr. Dekkers currently serves on the board of directors of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH), Unilever, Georgetown University and Quanterix Corporation.

Dr. Dekkers received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Radboud University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Eindhoven, both in the Netherlands.
